Information: Top 100 Companies in B.C.

More Top 100 Winners: 2011 | 2010 | 2009 | 2008

Every July, BCBusiness publishes lists of the biggest companies in B.C., ranked by revenue; and the province’s biggest charities, ranked by eligible donations.

Who is Eligible

Any company headquartered in B.C., including public and private companies, Crown corporations and registered charities.

Top 100 Criteria

Public, private and crown corporations are ranked by revenue, except financial institutions, which are ranked by net interest income plus other revenue. Charities are ranked by tax-receipted donations received.

The Process

Companies are invited to nominate themselves by providing their financial information for their previous fiscal year online at the Top 100 Companies in B.C. Online Entry Form. The information remains confidential and will be subject to confirmation by BCBusiness researchers. BCBusiness will also conduct independent research to seek out information for eligible companies that do not submit data online.

Timeline

Companies are ranked according to results from their most recent fiscal year (typically ended within the previous calendar year). We begin gathering data in March, when most public companies begin filing annual financial results. Data must be submitted by early May to be considered for this year's Top 100 lists.
