The NDP chooses terrible moment to cannibalize itself. Could it have been avoided?

With the governing Liberals in disarray, BCNDP leader Carole James has her leadership plunged into doubt by a Jenny Kwan-led caucus mutiny.

Thirteen members of the BCNDP are revolting against party leader Carole James. Led by Vancouver-Mount Pleasant MLA Jenny Kwan, a group being referred to as the "Baker's Dozen" has openly called for James's resignation or a mass firing of all 13 dissenting members.

Will she survive the putsch? James has called an emergency caucus to address the 13 party dissidents who have questioned her leadership.
