Ryan Beedie, president of real estate developer the Beedie Group, is the overall BCBusiness 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year.

As Jessica Werb writes in her October 2009 profile, Ryan Beedie, since taking over the day-to-day running of his father's company in 2001, has overseen a massive expansion of the industrial real estate development business: revenues have grown by more than 500 per cent, the company now owns and manages more than seven million square feet of industrial space, and today it has about 120 hectares of raw land in its bank.
