IMW Industries Ltd. CEO Brad Miller is winner of the BCBusiness 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year award in the cleantech category.

As Colleen Kimmett writes in her October 2009 profile, Miller bought the Chilliwack-based manufacturer of compressed-natural-gas equipment when it was a small operation that offered reasonable returns. In 2006, when the Canadian dollar soared and the "safe bet" became at risk of being shut out of the market by foreign competitors, MIller decided against cutting costs. Instead, the company reduced prices, increased production and invested heavily in more efficient equipment. Revenues increased from $8 million in 2006 to $52 million in 2008. Production surged and the company expanded to China.
