I have to say, I owe my success to not listening to the advice of others. The music business is very central to Toronto, L.A., New York, Nashville and London. Vancouver is not really on the map, except for a couple of managers here. When we released our first three records, I went back east and started showing them around to all of these different players there.

I was told I would never succeed if I stayed in Vancouver, but that just made us more determined to stick to our vision. If I was going to give any advice to someone, it would be, understand that all perspectives are right, but follow your own intuition, not that of others.
