Games On!

Olympic Torch on the Musqueam Reserve

This is Olympic Vancouver, through the eyes of Cole and Jakob, two local sharpshooters.

Huge crowds gathered on the Musqueam Reserve in South Vancouver to greet the torch as it made its way through one of the Four First Nations hosts backyard. Mayor Gregor Robertson (in red) was there to check it out, as well.

The Torch and The iPhone

The torch: the most photographed icon – photographed using another icon of sorts, Apple's iPhone.

The English Bay Light Show

If Vancouver's beloved Celebration of Light were never to grace English Bay again, this crazy-awesome light show would be a fantastic substitute.

The Irish House

One of the many pavilions around the city right now is Irish House, home of $9 cans of beer and a heck of a lot of fun.

Anti-Olympics

Protesters from far and wide waited until the Olympics started before staging their protests, which have benefited from the crush of people. Ironic.

Pro-Olympics

For every anti-Olympics protester, there's at least one "pro-protester"

Winter Olympics, Swedish Style

The Winter Olympics are taking place in with weather that is topping 15 degrees. These young gentlemen from Sweden were taking a dip at Ambleside, in West Vancouver.

Dangling Signs

Not everyone is thrilled about the Games. This massive sign was hung from a building on the corner of Carrall and Hastings.

Flashmob

Robson Street in the middle of the day. When was the last time you saw this street like that? These fun folks were gathered for an impromptu Flashmob dance to “Dancing in the Streets.”

Multiculturalism

Downtown Vancouver is a wild mix of multiculturalism. It’s great seeing people from all over sporting their colours, such as these two gentlemen from the Netherlands.
