This year marks the 85th anniversary of B.C.-based full-service investment firm Odlum Brown. While most respondents to our Best Companies survey found any discussion of money rather impolitic, at Odlum Brown it’s all about the money – or rather, the ownership. The company is fully owned by its employees, with over 75 per cent of staff participating in the firm’s share ownership plan. Ownership also pays dividends in terms of company loyalty, with 17 per cent of employees having been with the firm for over 20 years, 28 per cent for over 15 years and 43 per cent for over 10 years.
