Event: Big Sisters 2010 Gala
Venue: Pan Pacific Hotel
Date: Oct. 7, 2010

Caroline Saline once said, "Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world simply by being there for each other." Many of us weren't fortunate enough to have a blood sister. For a lucky few, Big Sisters steps in and provides one.

The organization began in the 1950s as a group of professional ladies who dedicated their Saturdays to spending time with young girls – shopping, playing, doing things that girls do. The Big Sisters of 2010 continue in the same vein, inspiring hearts and bettering the life of girls in B.C.

Here's to 50 years, the current 400 volunteers, the hundreds of girls helped each year, the 17 staff members, the Board of Directors, the community supporters, and the $125,000 raised at this year's Big Sisters of BC gala.
