Event: Vancouver Wine Festival Bacchanalia Gala
Venue: Fairmont Vancouver Hotel
Date: April 21, 2010

The centerpiece event of the Playhouse Wine Festival, The 2010 Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction was a night to remember. Attended by more than 550 guests from all around the globe, the evening featured wines from some of the greatest wineries of the world. Although the night was up for some tough competition against the fourth Vancouver Canucks vs. the LA Kings playoff series game, gala attendees still donned their gowns and tuxes to attend the gala, leaving their precious Canuck jerseys at home. Hosts of the evening Gloria Macarenko of CBC News and legendary wine connoisseur Sid Cross noted that they were in the perfect company to drown away their sorrows if the Canucks lost to the Kings. Exclusive auction items were donated by international wine producers and many generous businesses from around the world. Exclusive entertainment of the evening included world-class dancers from Argentina and New Zealand and local songstress Elena Juatco.
