Event: DIG360's Groundhog Day Celebration
Venue: The Diamond in Gastown
Date: February 2, 2010

When do the big executives of retail come out to play? When their good friends Puxatawny Phil and Wiarton Willie pop out from underground to determine whether Spring will come early, of course.

On a brisk Groundhog Day evening, a selection of bigwigs from Vancouver retail got together at Gastown's Diamond Lounge to sip wine, nibble on appies, and talk anything but shop. Their host? David Ian Gray of DIG360.

David explains, "I put on this event because it excites me when the Ricks" – Bohonis and Amantea, the CEO of Urban Barn and VP of Park Royal – "who haven't seen each other in ages, can take the night off, socialize and prognosticate over cocktails. And, honestly, what's a better excuse to celebrate, than for under-appreciated Groundhog Day?"

Groundhog Day, bringing retail executives out of their burrows and into the light of the annual DIG360 shindig.

Sheryl - Thanks for joining us and "documenting" the event. Everybody had a great time sharing stories and socializing - I think your photos really captured the spirit of the evening! Regards, Mark.
