Information: Best Companies to Work for in B.C.
Background
The Best Companies to Work for in B.C. is an annual competition hosted by BCBusiness magazine and Mindfield Group. Winners are selected through a year-long vetting process and are featured in the December issue of BCBusiness.
Who is Eligible
Any B.C.-based company (your head office must be located in B.C.) with more than 25 employees, including public-sector and non-profit organizations, can participate.
How to Participate
Companies nominate themselves by filling out an online registration form at bestcompanies.ca. Eligible companies will then be asked to complete a questionnaire, and administer a survey of employees.
The Process
Once a company has registered, the CEO or another senior representative of the company will be asked to fill out a survey describing company practices. The company will also be asked to administer an anonymous online employee survey. Mindfield will assess the data from both surveys to determine the winners, with employee responses counting for 70% of the final score, the company survey counting for 20% of the score, and employee participation rate accounting for 10% of the score.

Companies will be assessed according to four broad areas of practice: talent systems, employee engagement, leadership dynamics, and organization culture
